Customs Surveillance and the Civil Guard located the drug shipment in a container of chickpea sacks from Mexico / No arrests were registered

On December 30, a joint operation developed by the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency and the Civil Guard served to intervene the last cocaine cache of the year in Spain. It was in the port of Barcelona, where 1,120 kilos belonging to different organizations were intervened. A month earlier, at the end of November, a similar cache fell in Panama destined for the same Catalan port.

He highlighted the origin of the merchandise, Mexico, and the concealment, among sacks of chickpeas. The bales, about 60 kilos each, were placed between the legumes. The method used was once again the blind hook, because neither exporting nor importing company had, in principle, knowledge of the operation.
The intention of the narcos was to ‘rescue’ the cache in the Barcelona port, something they no longer did after detecting the presence of the authorities in the terminal. The Catalan port has become a strategic place for criminal mafias from all over Europe in recent times.
