2-nitro-1-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)propene synthesis substitutions

I am reading Shulgins notes and he used 3,4,5-trimethoxybenzaldehyd ethanol, and n-butylamine to synthesis 2-nitro-1-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)propene for TMA. I'm got to substitute the n-butylamine with Cyclohexylamine. Can I substitute the ethanol with isopropyl alcohol?

There is a high probability that yes, but not 100% sure. You need to try.

Thank you very much. I forgot to put nitroethane in their to. Shulgin ran the reaction at 40C for 7 days, and got a really good yield compared to the other procedure using ammonium acetate and you use less nitroethane for the 7 day procedure.

Maybe ill try it on a small scale with isopropyl and see what happens
