Question Benzaldehyde synthesis from common products.

Hello! I am trying to get pure benzaldehyde and i heard that is possible to synth it from styrene. Is this an efficient method?

Hmm not really. Better to oxidise benzyl alchohol

There is many ways hydrolysis of benzyl chloride there was a way with cinnamon oil and sodium carbonate

I saw that route but i searched for price and i think is a bit expensive for large quantities.

Not the Nile red video I'll try to find a link it was a science hub thread it's used crude cinnamadlehyde 300 ml and the yield of benzaldehyde was supposed 150ml I haven't tried myself
