Caffeine extraction from tea

Introdution(short introdution because i know you knowing that compound):Caffeine is stimulant that can be getted by synthesis or extraction, extaction can be from coffee beans, instant coffee powder, tea bags, tea leafs.
We will consider the option of tea bags.

Chemicals:
90ml of dichloromethane
Water(if you have bad quality water from sink don't even think to use in extraction, if you have that problem you can buy bottle of water in shop)
12 or 13 bags of tea
12g Na2CO3

Extraction:
We putting 12 bags of tea bags in the beaker and 125ml of water was added in beaker and now pouring 12 grams of sodium carbonate, now we brought our solution to the boil, if extract was really dark, we adding 65ml of water and reapeating proccess twice, now we adding in separatory funnel the solution, and adding dcm 3 times to separate the liquid of caffeine, we using distilation to remove recovery dcm, after this we getting our caffeine crystals.

Yield:1.2 grams(55%)

Caffeine can be bought in pharmacy without problems. Who need to extract caffeine from tea? =)

I know, some states only selling with recipe so i think for people who can't get caffeine pills.

Can I do the same process using coffee or pills instead of tea?

You can use the same process for coffee but why would you need it? Just buy pure caffeine or extract from pills.
