Simple recipe for MDMA

Does someone have a simple, beginner-friendly and detailed tutorial for manufacturing mdma from safrole. If yes, i would be eternally grateful.

First you need obtain MDP2P from safrole:

Wacker Oxidation of safrole to MDP2P followed by reductive animation with methylamine (or nitromethane which gets reduced to methylamine in situ).

Acid/base extraction. Wash. Dry. Crystallize.

I'm not a chemist but I do like how one sentence in a drug formula can be a whole day activity with several steps involved.

Keep in mind that most of that time is the Wacker Oxidation. It doesn't require babysitting. It'll take 20 minutes to set it up. Run it overnight. Wake. Have brunch. Extract. Steam distill. Reductive animation (which *does require babysitting) to crystallization... eh... 3 hours give or take. It might be done over 2 days, but it's not much actual work.

Store your ketone in the freezer till use.

Unless you have a magic wand, there's no easier route.

It's not easier. Not harder, either. It requires the same amount of skill and equipment either way.

If you reduce MDP2NP you'll get *MDA. You'll miss your target of chemical of *MDMA. And it's still one initial reaction + reduction: no simpler.

Another option is to do the route of isosafrole. I believe the original synthesis for MDMA took that route... but it's more steps. Wacker - Reductive Animation. 2 reactions. That's the simplest. You can use methanol for both reactions. Flood, and use Toluene or Xylene to extract. All OTC.

But if you can get MDP2NP just make MDA and be happy. You can also go the route of the oxime to get MDA.
