Interessant... gibt es einen Grund, warum Sie sich für Ammoniumacetat statt für Cyclohexylamin entschieden haben?

Yes. Cyclohexylamine is a very active catalyst and damages derivatives with rapid condensation. Ammonium acetate is a milder catalyst and more suitable in this case.

Ah okay interesting. I ended up trying it with a few different catalysts - with nitromethane and had fairly good results with all of them. I tried both cyclohexylamine, ammonium acetate and also tried ethylenediamine. Annoyingly I didn’t compare the reactions like for like though as I was new to all this stuff at that point.

For similar condensation, my best catalyst is butylamine. Otherwise, as you like.
