No. The main difference between beta-alanine and L alanine is that beta-alanine is a non-proteogenic amino acid, whereas L alanine is a proteogenic amino acid.

For short, beta alanine is a beta amino acid which means it has the amino group sticking on the other carbon that you want. Look for alanine (racemic, L-alanine or D-alanine which is rather expensive)

ive read recently that using b alanine is also suitable, cant remember the exact terminology on why that is, but can site the reference if needed i suppose
