Hey there, this is Eumer. It's my first post on the forum so I apologize in advance if I'm missing out the rules or anything else.

I can buy camphor oil from my local stores which I heard that it contains safrole and camphor for sure. I need to seperate safrole from this oil but I don't know the procedure. Seems like I have to perform a vacuum distillation since both safrole and camphor has high boiling points. (Camphor BP: 209 C° and Safrole BP: 232 C°)

The thing is camphor has lower boiling point and I'm stuck here. I don't know what to do.

And also I've seen in an old forum that says I can seperate safrole by crystalizing in the freezer. I'd also love to learn about it.

Hello, it can be in this oil in case this camphor was distilled from trees with safrole like Sassafras albidum and Ocotea cymbarum.

As someone pointed out to me, unless there is only safrole in the solution(and it has to be a solution not just the oil) then the camphor/etc would also crystalize out.

Vacuum distillation would be how you separate, but it has to be a certain kind of camphor, there are 3 kinds, and only the...brown or yellow I can't remember, but some camphor oil is without safrole
